Our Board of Directors is composed of senior mining and financial executives who have broad domestic and international experience in mineral exploration, development, and mining. The Board has extensive experience in the resource industry, and their specialized skills and knowledge will enhance our ability to explore and develop our existing projects, as well as pursue other regional growth opportunities.

Janice Stairs has served on the Board of Directors since October 2019. In addition to our Board of Directors, Ms. Stairs serves on the Board of Directors of Trilogy Metals, Inc. Ms. Stairs has over 30 years’ experience working with companies involved in the resource sector. Since 2011, Ms. Stairs has been General Counsel to other executive positions previously held with Namibia Critical Metals Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed exploration company focused in Namibia. Ms. Stairs also held positions with Endeavour Mining Corporation, as General Counsel; and Etruscan Resources, Inc., as Vice President and General Counsel; and Prior to 2004, Ms. Stairs was a partner at the law firm of Mcinnes McInnes Cooper (formerly Patterson Palmer) located in Atlantic Canada and she continues to act as counsel to this firm, as a partner. Ms. Stairs practiced law in private practice for almost 20 years specializing in corporate finance, securities and resource-related issues for private and public companies. Ms. Stairs holds a law degree from Dalhousie University and a Masters in Business Administration from Queens University, both in Canada. Ms. Stairs is a resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Dale Andres, Director, who joined GSI in 2021, has more than 30 years of experience in the resource industry. Mr. Andres currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for the Company’s wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, Minera Luz del Sol. Previously, Mr. Andres served as Senior Vice President, Base Metals; as Senior Vice President, Copper; as Vice President, Copper Strategy and North American Operations; as Vice President, Gold and International Mining; and as General Manager, Underground Mines, at Teck Resources Limited.

Ali Erfan, Director, is Vice Chairman of The Electrum Group LLC, a privately held global natural resources investment management company. Mr. Erfan is a founding board member of Leor Energy. Mr. Erfan has more than 20 years of experience in senior roles in the venture capital and private equity industry.

Mr. Gonzales is from Cusco, Peru, and has more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry. He is the Chief Operating Officer at Appian Capital Advisory, a leading investment advisor in the metals and mining industry. Previously, he was with the Barrick Gold Corporation as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Between 1980 and 1996, Mr. Gonzales served in various roles with Southern Peru Copper Corporation. Mr. Gonzales has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco, Peru, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Extractive Metallurgy.

Karl Hanneman, Director, is Chief Executive Officer of International Tower Hill Mines, Ltd., where he leads a team advancing a 10-million-ounce gold resource in Alaska through project optimization. Mr. Hanneman has more than 35 years of mining industry management and technical experience as an executive, manager, mining engineer, mine operator, and entrepreneur.

Charles Hansard, Director, from London, England, serves on the Board of Directors of Electrum Ltd. and Baker Steel Resources Trust. Mr. Hansard has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry. Since 1996, Mr. Hansard has served as a Non-Executive Director of Moore Capital Group of Funds, AIG Asset Management Europe (Limited), Deutsche Global Liquidity Series and Midway Resources International. Mr. Hansard has also served on the board of directors of Apex Silver and African Platinum Plc. Mr. Hansard has a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin.

David Peat, Director, was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Frontera Copper Corporation, Vice President and Global Controller at Newmont Mining Corporation, and Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Homestake Mining Company. Mr. Peat has over 30 years of experience in financial leadership in support of mining corporations.

Daniel Muñiz Quintanilla, Director, from Mexico City, Mexico, serves on the Board of Directors of Hudbay Minerals Inc. and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP. Mr. Muñiz has more than 15 years of experience in the mining industry. Previously, he was with Grupo Mexico, SAB de CV and its subsidiaries, Americas Mining Corp. and Southern Copper Corp., where he served in a variety of leadership roles, including Managing Director (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Muñiz holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Law from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. He also holds a Law Degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Mexico.
